The day begins with a hearty farmhouse breakfast at the stables, giving riders a chance to meet their mounts, guides and fellow riders before we set off. Non-riding partners are very welcome to join us for breakfast and see us off.

The first hour of the ride takes us across open mountain and along quiet country lanes and tracks with breathtaking views across the valleys and mountains of mid Wales.  The Brecon Beacons are clearly visible on a clear day though on any day the view is nothing short of spectacular.

The second hour sees us enter the ancient and enchanting Brechfa forest.  Here the tracks are wide with ample opportunity for an exhilirating canter.  We follow the river as it winds through the forest towards Abergorlech.

After approximately 2hrs riding through the forest we come to the Abergorlech forestry car park.  Here we dismount, leaving the horses in the car park where they are untacked and able to rest.  In warm weather you can watch the horses enjoying a cool down in the river.  Riders have a very short walk to the pub where they will find good food and a warm welcome.  Riders may bring their lunch out to share with the horses or enjoy the hospitality of the pub.  Your guides will stay with the horses, having lunch on the picnic table in the car park.  Non-riding partners are very welcome to meet us at the forest car park and join us for lunch.

After approx. 60-90mins at the pub, we remount and head home through the forest (taking a different route home)

On return to the stables, the horses are stabled and fed with riders invited into the kitchen for a well deserved rest, cup of tea or coffee and home-made cake.

Pub rides must be booked in advance cost is £130 per person (inlcudes breakfast as well as tea and cake in the afternoon but not pub lunch)  non-riding partners are welcome to join us for breakfast and tea and cake at an additional cost of £25 pp.
